There’s a particular ritual that every skier understands but rarely talks about — the moment the boots come off, the mountain recedes, and the day becomes a story. Jones captures that transition perfectly: a red Porsche buried in fresh powder, gondolas tracing their slow arcs overhead, a glass raised in that golden hour that belongs only to people who earned it. The imagery is aspirational, but the feeling is deeply familiar. This is a painting about the best version of a day — not the descent, but the exhale after it. Because Jones knows what every skier eventually learns: the mountain is the occasion. The après is the memory
